Consider the possibility that this is more than just a purchase of DL with supply agreements, co-operation agreements and license in place.

This could also include the buyer increasing their global footprint with additional production capacity in Singapore. Potentially the establishment of silicon capacity with floor space dedicated to POET owned equipment for the OI similar to the operation at SilTerra.

Remember Suresh’s comment on the establishment of assembly, test and distribution as being that part of the business they want to own. And that could be located at Singapore, Canada or the US.

They are totally focused right now on being a design and development company. To truly appreciate this vision you have to understand that the optical interposer is very unique in its ability to connect light efficiently across an extremely wide range of wavelengths and do this within a platform that allows uncompromised transmission of mixed signal electronics at very low parasitics. The platform is an integration of the most cutting edge way that semiconductor dies are attached today driven by the leading cell phone component suppliers. Allowing today’s mobile devices to be very thin and energy efficient. Add to this the ability to now connect photonic integrated circuits with these electronic integrated circuits at the edge and we can see how POETs vision to design and develop is destined to be applied across so many different applications. There is the potential to transform this company into one of the giants.
