My thoughts PoetPower on your reference to the MACON/GF announcement.
POET as a company supplying the OI, have a product intended to be used in many other company's devices particularly given the platform nature of the POET OI solution. That would mean that many of the companies announcing new product lines at the OFC could well become customers and contract with POET once its significant performance and cost differences are appreciated. In April a new team will be on hand to develop the OI to meet new customers specific requirements. At the moment we are all playing 'Where's Wally' trying to spot our Tier One Customer.
The OFC is a market place for POET to sell its wares and given the OI's disruptive advantages it will be noticed. I don't think TMs presentation was the only tub thumping event planned for the golden opportunity the OFC presents, but was a necessity in the circumstances to reach out to customers not attending due to coronavirus concerns to get its message out.
Logically any potential customers of POET would be expected to announce first at the OFC so our opportunity must be imminent.
