The fact is that all of us here we are invested in this company to make money, not for the pure joy of having a breakthrough technology.
And for a company (and its shareholders) to be successful, it is not only about having the cutting edge technology, but also or even more so about monetizing it. That is why share price is most important for us, but also for the company to sustain its financial needs (it is one thing to issue shares at $.50 and very different game to do it at $3).
I have been quite badly burned by another (somehow similar - I hope that breakthrough technology is where similarities end) company, Orbite Technologies, with such a promising future, so many applications, a potential environmental solution for the environmental disasters red mud lakes produced by Aluminum industry, proven Pilot Plant. Guess what, it had even uplisted on TSX.
Brilliant technology, disastrous execution, result: retail shareholders like me got screwed, company, technology almost completed production plant bought for pennies on the dollar, and production started after some half a year. Several former management moved to the new company, all good for them.
That is why Management has to be held accountable for all aspects of running the company, including technology but also share price which it impacts every single one of us as well as the financial bottom line of Poet.
And this is why shareholders should do everything they can to prevent ending like Orbite.
That is also why several years ago I proposed to vote for somebody from this board, like Rainer or Oz, that is very invested in Poet and understands our pain points, for the Board of Directors: to defend retail shareholders interests.
