It seems there were some frictions between POET and the new owner of DL during the sales transition. But we should not forget that many of the folks at DL are former colleges, possibly even friends of Poet.
For me, it is obvious that these people at DL are the only ones outside POET having a deep understanding of the OI. And I am sure that they will use this first-mover advantage in their new products wherever and whenever possible. Because of their exposure to POET it would be completely nuts:
- not use the OI with its tremendous advantages over all other relevant technologies
- to infringe in any way the patents of POET but
to develop new IP /patents based on POETS IP, especially in areas outside the core interest of POET.
