Hi Turr, good questions, answers are below:
What would you think if you discovered Poet right now and we're looking for a great deal? You just did a thorough dd turning over every stone, not just a flash assessment.
If I just discovered POET, I would buy some shares, but I would consider it more gambling than a safer investment, but that is fine as I am a gambler (I would also get in now at a lower price than I am at now). I would note that I would likely not know about POET, unless someone told me, which was the case a long time ago with OPEL. I started by trading, first bought at $0.23, sold shortly after at $0.39, then soon became a long after getting caught up in the hype.
Would you do a second take to make sure what you were reading and viewing was correct?
I would focus on any official documentation (and have lots of confusion), rather than anything anyone else wrote (which is the bulk of the info, and where I have made previous mistakes).
What would you think of the share price? (don't forget you're searching for a really good deal with not too much risk.)
I would think the SP was much more likely to go up significantly, rather than down, and would have no idea on the timing, optimism would tell me it should be a quick (history would tell me otherwise).
Think about this with an open mind and as someone with no previous knowledge of Poet but you're willing to go the distance with your due diligence. (don't forget the cheap warrants and their effect on the share price)
The warrants and the ludicrous financing would concern me, but I would note that the warrants are soon to be done with (finally!!), but hope it would not happen again. I would also be concerned about the recent run-up (for no reason?) so that management could sell some shares (if we want an example of what is not sustainable). I would also be concerned about the lost credibility (previous management), which takes a very long time to recover from. These reasons are why I would not over invest, but I would still take a gamble with some cash.
What would be your conclusion as to investing in this company?
I would invest (gamble), but not too much. Honestly, chances would be that I would not know about POET at this point in time.
Good luck, go play some pool!!
