Interesting video explains pretty much what Poet is doing or done.  I can't stop thinking of Suresh's comment a while back.  We have created a platform that will have many uses that we havn't even thought of yet!  Is the OP the perfect platform solving the copper bottle neck at a cost that is relatively cheap cents/dollars per Gig, with wide open eyes, at low power, with low loss, agnostic speed, 6 parts compared to 30, wafer scale manufactured and tested using good die. What else have i forgot.  Turn on the news flow and lets hit OFC flying.
