Evolution vs Revolution

Some thoughts about KROM's question "why are the big boys not at Poets door.. why are they still going down their own paths? the GF solution...":
The incuments have their set successful ways. They are on an evolutionary path in order to keep their position in their ecosystems. They may well be interested in exploring Poets OI technology, but they will do it in their R&D departments rather than risking a failure in their ecosystem by adopting a revolutionary system that may fail.
Therefore I believe POET will have to rely on new market segments that are set not in "oil tanker behavior" yet. AI, wearables and new (or so far less successful) players. All those have less at risk and more to gain with revolutionary approaches. Once the "big boys" are confronted with those challengers' success they will have to open the drawer and pull out their OI-solutions now accepted in the market as proven technology.
Look at electric cars: a Tesla is not exactly a good car, rather a computer on wheels. But only this newcomer's challenge made the incumbent automotive "big boys" move into this business. And not before they tried anything and everything to hold on to their traditional ecosystems.
Mind you, even a "small part" like the OI-tech is disrupting everything from supply agreements to manufacturing to staffing policy and finally to enduser relations.
This means we shouldn't get discouraged if not everybody and their dog suddenly drop all prior established ways in order to jump on the POET-train. Those guys potentially have a lot to lose if they do - until they realise they have more to lose if they don't.
We may have to feed on small berries before eating big fat "Apple"s. Enough of those and you have good nutrition. And as time moves on the fruits grow bigger...
Or, if you prefer a different picture: there's rivers to jump in that will carry us to the blue oceans automatically.
Best to POET and all their longies!
