I can only hope a forthcoming NR will be so potent and world-shaking that the institutions will look desperately to retail holders for shares. That's the way it should happen.
At some point the intitutions should think that a $3-5 billion market cap for what POET has is still cheap, and they still have many billions more in store.
If this seems a ridiculous expectation, it's only because past history and shareholder exhaustion is being factored in. If POET were going public RIGHT NOW with all that has been achieved, and some big name underwriter was getting a 20% chunk, you can bet the initial valuation would be many multiples of $3-5 billion. And the potential retail base, contemplating their own accumulation, would have none of the PTSD that we have, given what we have survived. All of the dramas along the way to this point in the development of the OI platform would have taken place in private.
We need a breathtaking PR with a big name and $$$ projections therein, dramatic enough to function as a big middle finger to the institutions that want to accumulate by the usual methods (i.e., doing whatever they can to get long-suffering retail shareholders to throw in the towel too soon). These institutions need to be made to abandon their playbook and fall in love, for once.
