Baba, a bit of history.
While true that Suresh drove the development of the optical interposer from infancy to what we understand is now a real world platform, the basic principle behind the optical interposer is the waveguide technolgy. That was actually invented by a Canadian by the name of Mirek Florjanczyk, who also started a company called BB Photonics. Bill Ring came on board a few years later as a promotion guy and he is the one that brought Ajit, Suresh and Mirek together and arranged the buyout of BB Photonics by POET.
When we speak of the genius of Suresh, he was able to see, back then, what "might be" if waveguides could be utilized in such a way that light could be managed simply and extemely efficiently starting at wafer level.
He could also see, back then, that developing and selling a galllium arsenide semi conductor hybrid to the silicom world was a non starter.
Took him awhile to convince the the rest of us of that and make the pivot, but he did!
IMO, of course
