POET is interested in more mature technologies that are not organic, Vivek has no interest in technologies that do not have a proven commercial life of high reliability.  

They will be going to 200G lambda using lithium niobate which if you look at the roadmap to 3.2T that is 16 lanes. These guys make excellent technology decisions. The business side needs to catch up! I personally believe it will. Too many interested parties that see a straight forward future that is pretty clean for adoption. High volume is required.
