What is to come?

The relatively quick re-issuance of an ATM should be a positive sign that the company anticipates substantial news, with momentum to drive our share price and institutional investor demand up appreciably. That would make it a very sound strategic decision and a benefit to all of us.
The Zacks report recently noted the cessation of NREs in favor of product sales, “POET Moves to Product Orders from NREs With its First AI Customer”. This appears to be very positive news in the white hot sector that is AI.
Will the company capitalize on this? Does this not accelerate the timeline for receipt of product orders and revenues? If not, why not? And if it does, why is there no NR to explain the positive impact this change creates?
Managing substantive news is vital, absent of that, the stock continues to flounder, and the prompt reopening the ATM appears far less strategic and more suggestive of an urgent need for funds, a perception the company and shareholders cannot abide.
As noted here by others, Craig-Hallum embarrassingly reduced their share price forecast on the same day as the announced partnering with POET to raise funds via the ATM. That seemingly disingenuous action should bring into question their motives not only in the moment, but through the entirety of the ATM’s duration. So far, the relationship between the company and the investment management firm seems more like a power play than a partnership. Who will be held accountable if shareholders bear the brunt of any damage that might ensue?
It remains early days and we continue the downward drift. Once again, POET can eliminate concerns by having in place market-making news to support this “refreshed” ATM. Now (the coming weeks) is the time to change the direction and the momentum.
Over the next 12 months the company will manage this offering, initial orders, delivery and sales of multiple products, relationships with partners, suppliers and first time customers. This period of time, like no other before, will determine the ability of this management team and it's board to guide the company. Strengths and weaknesses will become apparent and must be addressed accordingly. Customers and partners will demand no less. Neither should we.
