You are correct in that it doesn't serve a useful purpose.  Then again, investors are human and when a human gets slapped in the face it is quite natural to react to that slap.  Actually, it is pretty much an expected reaction unless the human is so beaten down by bad circumstances that they no longer have the energy or disposition to react and, instead, just lie there and take whatever comes.

Suresh is not just exceptional, he is indeed brilliant.  There is no doubt in my mind that he didn't foresee a significant negative response to this most recent POET development by the unwashed retail investor.  Because of his experience and his intelligence he had to have anticipated that things would not be docile in River City once Casey swung and missed at the bat.

The emotional high pitch achieved today will simmer down in the next few days and weeks and as that intensity descends from a pitchfork and "burn 'em at the stake" level to one more commensurate with civility then we will all have an opportunity to see how the administration engages in countermeasures to repair the huge gaping hole that has been torn in the Good Ship POET 

Whether the damage to that ship is equivalent or worse than the iceburg ramming fateful 2016 experience on the ocean of self imposed obstacles or whether this time repairs can be made so that the life boats remain locked on deck instead of being manned in a panic by the passengers of the ship... that remains to be seen.  If Suresh is all that we believe him to be then the Captain will correctly assess the damage and design an effective and appropriate damage control and, more importantly, repair to the ship.  

Pitchforks, Tar and Feathers and Ropes should, in the meantime, be stowed away back where they came from along with all of the name calling and finger pointing that is of equal value to that of the aforementioned pitchforks, Tar and Feathers and ropes.  Give the admin time to "Adapt and Adjust".  Best for everyone if they do so with haste.  "Purpose" is served by circumspection and redirection "particularly under these set of circumstances"

Suresh knows that "the buck stops here" with him.  Give him a chance to repair the ship.
