Action or reaction...It is true that FJ's statements should be supported by references, otherwise, they only sow doubt and are based solely on opinion.

For clarity the following was provided based on questions that were circulating last Sept:

The question:

It appears that a lot of people believe that Celestial AI has copied POET's patents for the optical interposer.

The answer:

1.  All that has been published by CAI are 7 applications, none of which read on POET’s technology.

2.  CAI is committed to our light sources, both commercially and technically.

3.  The diagrams in the article that have been cited on the board omit the light engines that make everything work, and the overall article and Dave’s quotes are actually very supportive of POET’s approach.

4.  We have a very good idea where the market for light sources is converging, which is in our direction, and we are already working on the next generation.

A detailed response of associated CAI patents is also provided that support POET's differentiation to what CAI is doing.

My opinion: I hope that people here understand that POET is unique and any effort to produce something similar will not provide the same benefits that 5 years of intense and focused R&D by POET has achieved. People will try to duplicate what they can but we POET has the patents and the know how well ahead of the competition.

The fifth element that POET was developing (in reference to David's statement when he was promoting POET) was the vertical mirror in which POET has since refined to a level in which the light can be manipulated very precisely in both the ability to steer and shape for best in class coupling from one device to another.
