Paul Beat is responsible for the delivery of the company’s consultancy, information, technical and security operational services to its regional and international client base from the regional headquarters in Dubai, and the eight other offices in the region. He advises clients on developing and implementing strategies to mitigate the risks to people, information and physical assets, particularly in complex or hostile environments. Paul has extensive knowledge of operating in Africa and the Middle East. With more than 800 consultants deployed in over 20 countries in the region he assists companies daily to operate securely in some of the most high-risk areas. Before joining Control Risks in 2000, Paul spent seven years as a security adviser for a large multinational. During this period he advised on management security and community policies, emergency response policies, mass evacuation, extortion fraud and human rights issues.

Bill Bulmer is Associate Director in IFC’s Oil, Gas, Mining and Chemicals Department where he is head of the Mining Division. IFC is a very active investor in mining and has a diverse global portfolio including precious and base metals, minerals and coal. Bill has over 20 years’ finance experience in emerging markets and, during his time with IFC, has worked in several investment departments handling a variety of project, corporate and equity financings. This includes several years as a manager in IFC’s Infrastructure Department, helping the Corporation build its expertise and capability for infrastructure finance. Bill is now leading a growth strategy for IFC’s mining investments that focuses on the value addition that IFC can provide to its clients in a range of areas but particularly in relation to sustainable development impacts benefiting local communities. Prior to joining the Mining Division he was Associate Director in the Environment and Social Development Department where he was a key member of the leadership team responsible for the IFC Social and Environmental Performance Standards. Bill was educated in the UK with a BSc(hons) from the University of Reading and an MBA from Cranfield University.

Mr. Danis has a B.Sc. in Earth sciences with specialization in geology and a M.Sc. in Earth science with specialty in geochemistry from the University of Quebec in Montreal. With more than 20 years of exploration experience in Canada & Internationally, Mr. Danis was Vice-president Exploration for Minorca Resources, Vogue Resources and Unigold Resources from 1994 to 2002. Mr. Danis Co-founded Unigold Resources Inc. in 1997 and initiated the merger with Caribgold to create Unigold Inc. in 2003 for the tenements in this country. He has been director of Mining Funds from 1991 to 1994 financing exploration development in Quebec.

Barry Dawes is the Managing Director of Martin Place Securities Pty Ltd, a boutique investment company specialising in investment opportunities in small-cap resource and energy companies. Martin Place Securities (MPS) has raised A$600m in the past five years as underwriter, lead manager or lead adviser for ASX, NSX and AIM listings for resources and energy companies. MPS is well known for its support of successful growth companies in these sectors and for its views on the outlook for the resources commodity sector. Ms. Dechev has extensive experience in the capital markets through positions held at well recognized investment banks in institutional equity research, corporate finance and merger and acquisitions primarily focused on the resource sector. Prior to joining Mundoro, Ms. Dechev was Vice President in Corporate Finance at French-Canadian investment bank, Desjardins Securities, covering small to mid capitalization resource companies for corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions mandates. Throughout her investment banking career, Ms. Dechev has worked for top tier investment banks, CIBC World Markets and National Bank Financial and has directly participated in financings for over half a billion dollars to primarily small to mid capitalization companies as well as being part of the M&A team that advised Franco-Nevada on their Normandy Mining investment. Prior to that, Ms. Dechev was an Institutional Equity Research Analyst focused on covering junior resource companies (many of which are now successful mid-tier producers) at a boutique investment bank, Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon, and spent a few years at a mineral resources company managing their commodity and derivatives trading program for gold, copper and silver. Ms. Dechev has an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University, a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering in Geological & Mineral Engineering from the University of Toronto and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario.

Josef El-Raghy, Managing Director and CEO, holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Western Australia and had a ten year career in stock broking. He was formerly a Director of both CIBC Eyres Reed and Paterson Ord Minnett. Josef has been involved in the Sukari Gold project since the venture began in 1995 and became the MD/CEO in 2002. He has overseen the growth of the Company from junior explorer to one with a +10moz resource that is going to be Egypt’s first modern gold mine.

Michael Foster has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry. He is a graduate geologist and has a MBA from London Business School. He has been involved in all aspect of mining projects, from exploration through to financing, project development and operations. He is currently Managing Director of ZincOx Resources plc, a company listed on AIM in London that has recently completed the $200 million financing of its 52% owned Jabali zinc mine in Yemen.

Dr. Alan Heap is Managing Director & Global Head of Commodities, focusing on Metals and Minerals. Alan, who is based in Sydney, joined Citi Investment Research (Australia) in 1992, and started his career in the Metals & Mining industry in 1981. Previously he held positions with a number of mining and metals companies in Australia and the UK, including Renison GoldField, Tennant Trading, Consolidated GoldFields and Johnson Matthey. Alan has a PhD from the University of Reading and a B.Sc from the University of Wales.

A socially aware and dynamic young entrepreneur and business leader with a string of achievements to his credit, Madhu Koneru obtained a bachelor degree in commerce from the Delhi University and started his career with the Trimex Group in 1992 as a trainee. Three years later he was appointed General Manager and became the company’s Executive Director in 1996. During this time he has also been a member of the Boards of Directors of Al Ghanem Industrial Company, Kuwait, and TJ Shipping and Logistics. In his role as Managing Director of RMMI on behalf of Trimex, Madhu is focused on building RMMI into a world-leading mining solutions provider in the metals and minerals industry. Madhu is a YEO, India member, a Charter Member of the Indus Entrepreneurs in Dubai and a member of the Indian Business and Professional Council in Dubai. In 2007 he won the Asian Business Award Middle East for ‘Young Asian Achiever of the Year’. He has also been instrumental in facilitating bilateral initiatives between the Governments of Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah and India. Madhu also won the Young Mining Personality of the Year award from the inaugural Asia Mining Congress Sustainability Awards 2008. His family’s desire to serve the needy and underprivileged led to the establishment of a trust in India that provides needy people with education, medical treatment and employment assistance. Bryan Land is Senior Oil, Gas and Mining Specialist and joined the World Bank's Oil, Gas and Mining Policy Unit. A graduate of the London School of Economics, he also holds masters degrees in natural resources law and international affairs. Mr. Land has built his career dealing with public policy and investment issues in the resource industries, serving both public and private sector clients. In his current role he works with governments on oil, gas and mining sector reforms aimed at providing a sustainable basis for investment growth and economic and social development. He is on the team currently evaluating the potential for mineral sector growth in Yemen. Before joining the Bank last year, Mr. Land headed the natural resources advisory team at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. This was preceded by spells with IHS Energy, CRU International and the Government of Papua New Guinea.

Inés Scotland has held the position of Managing Director & CEO of Citadel Resource Group and it’s predecessor company Vertex Group for four years. Prior to joining Citadel, Inés spent fifteen years in the mining industry, the majority of this time working for Rio Tinto companies including Comalco, Lihir and Kennecott Utah Copper. During her career Inés has worked in professional positions in Australia, Papua New Guinea, USA and the Middle East and is currently located in Saudi Arabia and Australia with Citadel Resource Group. Inés’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science and graduate studies in economics

Rob joined Regester Larkin in January 2008, bringing two key areas of expertise: Oil & Gas, and the Middle East. Previously he was Middle East Energy Adviser to the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, working with many departments of the UK government and its network of Embassies to engage the Middle East region on issues of energy security and climate change. His regular direct engagement with the energy ministries and National Oil Companies of the Gulf and North Africa, and his first-hand experience of Ministerial discussions between producer and consumer governments has given him unique insights into one of the greatest challenges facing companies (both local and international) in the region; how to succeed in today’s energy system whilst also preparing for tomorrow’s. Prior to working for the UK government, Rob had a diverse 10 year career with Shell, working in natural gas marketing, corporate strategy, and finally upstream new business development in the Middle East, based in Dubai. Reputation management was central to his work with Shell, whether he was promoting the brand to gas customers, advising the Board on sustainable development strategy or helping to position the company as the partner of choice for Middle East governments. Rob has had the benefit of both a private and a public sector perspective on several key challenges facing business in the region and now leads Regester Larkin’s service to clients across the Middle East.

Kevin Tomlinson is a geoscientist with over 27 years experience in the resources sector exploring for and developing various commodities including nickel, precious and base metals. He was formerly Manager Exploration for Plutonic Resources, a major gold producer in Australia, Managing Director of Austminex Ltd a base metal developer in Australia and Head of Research at Hartleys Ltd, a resource focused broker in Perth. Following his work in Australia, Kevin moved to London where he was Head of Natural Resources for Williams de Broë and has since joined Thomas Weisel Partners for the past two years as Managing Director Investment Banking.
