Cedar, What you say is certainly true. I have spoken to Brian before as I know you have. Although he is certainly guarded in his comments , you can still read much into what he says and doesn't say.
I find that when I am going to call Brian or an executive from other companies ( Nigel Lees for example ) I carefully write down my questions,try to anticipate possible answers and have well thought out follow up questions ready.Not only do I get better answers and information but they become more comfortabe and forth coming with information.
And above all ,don't come across as a complainer especially an uninformed complainer. For those of you who have never taken the time or had the nerve to make a call, I would highly advise that you do. Brian and others are very willing to speak to shareholders. Make the call , you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! Rico
