Creating shareholder wealth by advancing gold projects through the exploration and mine development cycle.
M,
There is a "suburb" of Geraldton called McLeod Townsite. It is about 5 kilometres south of the main urban area separated by skeggy bush and Kenogamisis Lake/Barton Bay. It was originally the townsite for the old McLeod - Cockshutt mine and has approximately 20 homes.
PG's open pit could encroach on the intersection of Trans Canada Highway 11 and Highway 584 (see attached photo). It is at this crossing where you will find the old headframe, tourist info centre and a general store. Also, within 500 metres of the potential pit is a brand new police station, the main hydro sub-station, a golf course and the townsite.
If PG's pit plan is approved, there could be some major re-location issues.
Coincidently, the whole area radiating out from the headframe, is riddled with old mine workings. About 100 metres south of the highway, part of the mine has collapsed. This fenced-off hole is within one of the pit plans.
One last little tidbit. The golf course (front nine) was originally built in the 1930's by the McLeod - Cockshutt mine with the the mine manager's house overlooking Hole #2. The back nine was built in the late 1990's on top of a large area of tailings and waste rock.
Gold giveth. And Gold may taketh away.
Sorry for the non-KXL info.
