Portee, I did not know you are as crazy as the Fench. Anyway, maybe I should give it a try since I catch lots of it and it is a pitty to throw it to the crabs and other nasties.
If I understood you right I should do the following after catching the fish. Kill it, keep it as is in a cool cellar for about 2 days until the smell stops, then skin it, cook the meat as for any other fish, give it to my mother in law to test it out.
How sick can you get if you don't do it right?
