If we had received any payments, we would have press released it for sure.  Don’t worry you didn’t miss anything, and we didn’t forget.

Anytime work is being done ahead of payments being received there is a risk notwithstanding anything a contract might have to allow enforcing collection of work done to date.

Rest assured that any work done is being done with the risks you mentioned in mind.  Deploying underutilized assets ahead of being paid is sometimes smart as it accelerates the project while not overly exposing one to undue risk.
