I am not an expert in all the tax aspects of business…nor accounting…nor legal.  So not much I can add there.

With respect to your question, I believe the client would own the torch with the leasing company having a lien on the torch (or other asset mutually agreed to between the leasing company and the client), much like a bank who loans against a house.
