I know Nucor uses carbon arc melting of recycled steel for their production process. They have to use recycled steel only, however.
Plasma torches ,I imagine, can operate like natural gas torches,so any kind of iron ore can be processed in a melter under continuous heat. Perhaps a magnetized field can alter the plasma stream trajectory in order to optimize the efficiency of such a process as well.
Furthermore, the contaminents in coal and natural gas shouldn't play a role with plasma. No need for scrubbers, furnace thermal efficiencies increase, losses from contaminants are reduced downstream... Hopefully Pyro's entry onto Nasdaq will bring it attention from these companies especially if it has a FOMO rally that makes headlines, Cramer on CNBC, etc. .
