There is no question as to the benefits of plasma torches in iron ore pelletisation.

The electrical infrastructure required to feed a plasma torch seems to be turning into a critical element preceeding the operation of a torch and dwarfing the cost of the torch.

Having the power available and on site will require a lot of work in most cases.

There is a pellet plant in Port Cartier Que which is less than 30kms from Hydro Quebec Post Arnaud where power from Churchill Falls, Labrador and La Romaine, Que. passes on its way south. Churchill itself is 7 milliion HP at 735KV. The pellet plant is only one line and of grate kiln design. That means fewer burners than most other plants, however this plant is managed by a very progressive crew, having made improvements, since it's start-up in the mid seventies, that have doubled its production. I would call this low hanging fruit for Peter.

Is this plant on Peter's list ?
