Message: Peter? Noranda needs your help!

Hi Peter,

The Noranda Income Fund (Canada) owns the second largest zinc processing facility in North America... and wouldn't you know it... they are located a stones throw away from you in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec.

They published their first ever ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Report and in it they disturbingly describe a process to treat 190,000 tonnes anually of salt laden waste residue.  They appear to be land filling this stuff after multiple costly treatment steps.  This doesn't really sound very ESG to me.

Is this yet another potential target for Drosrite?

Best regards,

Tim in Vancouver

"Managing Waste Residues" All zinc refineries produce a residue slurry containing iron; in our case this is jarosite. Our Jarofix process treats approximately 190,000 tonnes per year of sodium jarosite residue. In this world-class process, the thickened material from the leaching process is pumped onto three belt filters for dewatering and washing. The jarosite residue is then subjected to a stabilization solidification process and carried to a permitted disposal site, where it cures and transforms into a chemically and physically stable solid residue. The Jarofix disposal site has a life expectancy in excess of 50 years.
