Message: Peter : The government of Quebec invests green energy for aluminum industry

Hello Peter,

As I'm sure you know, Rio Tinto and Alcoa are working with a joint venture company called Elysis, headquartered in Montreal.

Elysis expects to produce "green" aluminum via a smelting process that will generate oxygen rather than CO2.  Their website also says that the company will produce anode and cathode materials that will last over 30 times longer than traditional components.

There's an article in the Journal de Québec and Journal de Montréal this morning, which talks about the financial implication of the Quebec government in this project.  Apparently, commercial scale use of the Elysis process should begin in 2024.

Could Elysis become a competitor of Pyro's Drosrite offering?

And could its anode material compete with HPQ's silicon anodes?

I know you're really busy, but I hope you'll find a moment to answer my question.

Thanks,

Snowdrift
