Good question and one we have been getting a lot of recently.

Nothing is ever off the table, but I think dividends are interesting when a company has run out of high-return projects to invest into, and things returning some money to the investors to invest is a more prudent way to increase s/h value.

Having said that, a special dividend is something that a company might consider if it has too much money to deploy effectively in a reasonable time frame.
