Hi TheHumanTorch,
When I read your question to Peter asking for details of how the aerospace company powder qualification process is going, I realized I hadn't done much homework on powder production challenges in general. So I poked around.
I found this useful — it's a blog post by BBA (an engineering consulting firm) on the challenges of quality control in metal powder production: https://www.bba.ca/publications/metal-powder-production-quality-control-is-crucial. I will be referring to it for context when PPP answers your questions.
(And a companion piece, https://www.bba.ca/publications/metal-powder-production-ohs-risks-first, goes into the occupational health and safety risks surrounding metal power production. Hadn't thought about it before... but powders can be dangerous to handle! It appears they can suffocate you and explode. So I hope PPP's Pyro people are wearing PPE.)
