Here is a link to an opinion piece in The Toronto Star that provides some color ("colour" for Canadians) regarding the upcoming release of the Canadian government’s 2030 Emissions Reduction Plan (ERP): https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/2022/03/22/corporate-canadas-net-zero-moment-has-arrived.html
"As opposed to previous federal government climate change announcements, this one will be a much bigger deal. It promises to be comprehensive, with the recently adopted Net Zero Emissions Accountability Act laying out a specific checklist of necessary components. And it is expected to be granular, with the national carbon reduction target broken down by policy and sector of the economy. This is key to spurring private sector investment: having a national target without these accompanying details is like having a road map with the destination marked but no directions."
This ERP will provide clarity to focus competition on shared metrics. By this time next week, Pyrogenesis will possess a new scorecard it can use to frame the company's GHG reduction story. I predict a new slide in the corporate deck incorporating the ERP rubric before the Q1 financials come out in April -- because the company will have a great story to tell in its home market.
I hope (though I do not predict) that the release of the ERP would incentivize Clients A and B to declare themselves, as they would have a communications catalyst for publicizing what they are doing to meet the ERP targets (i.e., working with Pyrogenesis to decarbonize iron ore pelletization).
