I didn't know that - thanks for the research and for sharing. And sorry Flyby, didn't mean to mislead anyone.

I guess the other qualification is that this is low level radioactive waste, and the slag-residue remains radioactive.

Depleted Uranium from a reactor cannot be nuked in a plasma torch.
