Message: Controversial shale gas development threatens continued debate in 2011

Hi Rocco: I think that Tegs was just reiterating what we have all pondered in the past but was bringing to light the latest print news from Ottawa. IMO one can never count Quebec out of doing something totally off the wall. They aren't on the north american power grid and they think that their hydro is everything they need. They would "cut off their nose to spite their face" as the saying goes, if it meant being different (aka distinct society). We all hope that common sense prevails but I'm not convinced that sense will be common in this ongoing debate. I deal with quebecers on a regular basis and they do not always follow the most loguical processes. IMHO the debate will go on all year long in 2011 and the QC gov't will pass the approriate legislation to regulate the industry but in its own timeframe. Like the article said, there is no hurry when the price of gas is so depressed.

Good luck to all QECers in 2011...Foghorn JMHO
