Premier Alward is/was in BC this week to look at the industry there. One of the three NB cabinet ministers that went to Arkansas with David Alward stayed behind to do more research. On her return (yesterday, I think) she said that she determined that every well (100%) had resulted in contamination of potable water. Today it was reported that SWN/Southwestern Energy, the Company that is intending to do some exploratory work in NB, is being sued by multiple Pennsylvania residents for contaminating well water with heavy metals and carcinogens. So I see a lot of debate ahead. We need the industry in NB and it can be done successfully. SWN are weaning into it with the correct approach.
