Those kinds of rules wouldn't affect QEC's land as much as those companies in NY. Quebec's land is far from major cities or primary waterbeds. NY is different though. They are fairly close to a lot of important areas for people.

Frankly I didn't see any big names in the article, like Talisman or Chesapeake etc. The small companies that were mentioned would of course we the ones to suffer the most.

I agree, look at western Canada on how to do it. BC, AB and even SASK. I mean think about it, when was the last time there was anything related to fracking that was horrible coming out of these provinces. Quebec should be looking to find the right balance of regulation and working with companies and the people. If they want to do checks every weeks on the well, let them, it's their right. It'll cost the more but whatever the people want to feel safe, then give it to them.

Speck is right, Canada is the place to look on how to do things, not the US.
