Led - I am very well aware of "confirmation bias" and quite frankly it scares me. I put hundreds of data points into a model that clearly points in one direction knowing that if just one or two items go wrong it can dramatically change the outcome. It will be whatever it will be.
The laxadaisial attitude toward resolving funding however suggests strongly that something positive is on the horizon. Attending this BB conference was likely scheduled many months ago to support what may have been a secondary IPO that for some reason didn't happen. Keeping the science community and investors apprized of your activities is always a balancing act for any company. No matter how good you think your doing there is always room for improvement and some need more improvement than others.
The grand size of the potential prize is so large though that there simply has to be some serious discussions happening with multiple parties.
As investors we may only see (if we do see) an opportunity like this once every decade or so. In 40 years or so I have come across only 5 or 6 situations like this but only recognized 3 in the past. Non of those had the potential size that this one "could" end up being.
