Sure, it's possible BETonMACE is over 4000 patient years. But it's equally possible that it is under 4000 and possibly still under 3600 at this point. The big unknown of the 3 D's (Dropouts/Discontinuations/Deaths) could have big effects on the rate of patient year accumulation. Dropouts are voluntary. Discontinuations are at the discretion of the doctor or per trial protocol. Deaths are self explanatory.
