When I got into this I asked myself, is this investing or is it gambling?  I suspect that it’s more the latter than the former.  It’s like hoping you beat the dealer in blackjack, just that one time, or else all is lost.  But, you know, “faint heart ner fair maiden won”.  So, we roll the dice if the odds seem stacked in our favour and the payoff is worth the risk, which is certainly the case here.  Also, without sounding too puritanical, I find this all easier to manage if I focus more on the benefits to people if the trial is successful rather than on what the share price which is really just a by-product of we hope is a successful trial.  Somehow that seems to make all of this more philanthropic.
