As Bear and KBC have been saying, there was no hypothesis which came later from which is obvious now but not then. Also, IVUS id very invasive and expensive per patient so was cost prohibitive to power ASSURE to that level without having any idea of the difference. ASSURE was a very small, short trial that cost $25 million plus if I remember correctly. Maybe to power it to this level would have beem $100 million???
