I can speak to.Trulicity as I started taking it just one week ago after having my A1C spike to 8. The following things have happened to me, all good, in a week.
1. A loss of weight
2. Eating smaller portions and more specific food (steel cut oatmeal instead of instant.) for instance along with one egg.
3.A prediction (and past experience validates) that one’s A1C will drop two full points...Three months from now I expect and hope to be a 6 which is a good AiC
4. I check my glucose every day now with the finger prick and am now always in the 90’s, which is great.
Trulicty comes in a box of four disposable needles with the plunger type mechanism that you take once a week in a different part of the body, the stomach or the thighs with a different spot each week and you take it at the same time each week. It has serveral warnings for adverse effect including the possibility of thyroid cancer, but that warning is of FAR LESS RISK that walking around with a high A1C and the long term effects of diabetes.
All I can do now is stay even and try to prevent any more vessel damage, or get some advanced neuropathy. The cost is $123 per month but I expect to lose plenty of weight in the next six months, mostly because in my mind I’m treating sugar now that “worse than cocaine” and staying away from all bread, white or dark.
Just sayin’ about Trulicity....it’s advertised all over in the state here on most major networks.
