Thanks so much BDZ.....I don't have your wealth of experience in the biotech space, plenty of experience with stocks in many different arenas, but biotech I've learned (and am still learning) is a bit of a different animal.
It doesn't seem there are any Investor type shows in and around that end of June time period....the closest date would be a scientific conference on Alzheimers in early July, but that's not what I was thinking of or hoping for.
I'm approaching this from the perspective of an investment bank underwriting a share offering....and I'm recalling what Ziopharm did back in January or February of 2015. They paid $50 million (all in stock) to the MD Anderson Cancer centre to be chosen as a partner for something or other to do with their Rheoswitch Sleeping Beauty CAR-T switch. But they wanted to make a big splash at the JP Morgan healthcare conference that was coming up, so they sweetened the pot with another (going off memory on the amount) $7.5 million in shares so that MD Anderson would make the announcement during the conference or just before. It worked...the stock exploded to $15 when it had been something like $2 or $3 just months before.
Ziopharm however was just starting out in Phase I at that time.....and in the 4 years since I don't think they've made much progress, but a lot of people got rich regardless. I worte a SA blog post back then entitled: Ziopharm - A speculative bubble poised to collapse? The pumper and, imo, industry hacks proceeded to tear me a new on in the comment section....I was an idiot, a moro and a rookie who didn't understand the science, the potential....or how the stock market works.
I don't think Resverlogix comes close to being a hyped up play....but as a public company Don and Resverlogix are swimming in shark infested waters so I wouldn't be surprised to see an investment bank trying to maiximize their return on any potential underwritten offering.
Enough for now....excited about tomorrow, which probably means it'll be another nothingburger....we shall see.
