iconoclast - All good questions and guesses. It would be nice to see 3 to 5 million units sold in this PO. I have put out on this board a few times that I believe there is up to 5 companies that hold up to 5% each but not more than that of RVX's shares. These may be some BP's that have been following this company/science for years and want to keep a toe in the water here without having to report anything. If they hold less than 5% of the outstanding shares there is no obligation for them to disclose any holding whatsoever. If my theory holds any water a big chunk of this offering could be taken up by these groups under many different accounts.
It is very unusual for a company with about 200 million shares outstanding to have regular trading days of 40k to 60k shares trade. The share ownership breakdown presented in the past showed that about 55 million shares are in the public float. Again if my theory is correct I'm guessing that 20 to 30 million of this public float is in the hands of a few larger shareholders, maybe BP's that have no intention of selling shares acquired in this financing whatsoever. In addition to that possibility there will be a number of shareholders like myself who have no intention of selling shares in order to keep free warrants. This combination may limit the supply of shares and assist in the climb back up to new highs prior to the Top Line data being announced.
As there was very small increase in the shares shorted on the last report(an increase of only 18k), which accounted for sales up to the day the offer became available, 1.3 million shares traded that day and only about 700k since then, it has me thinking that most of the shares purchased in this offering will be held pretty tight. It was quite interesting to see a single purchase of 20k shares from TD to an anonymous buyer just a couple of minutes before the close today. This is uncommon share movement for this company. I like what I am seeing.
I'm very curious to see if the number of shorts has gotten smaller on the next report. If it has my smile will touch both ears.
