I am not saying eGFR is worthless, except when it is directly compared with GFR, the actual result and not an estimate. 

Estimating anything can be important....how many people came out to the demonstration, the estimate has value, but not as much value as the actual verified count.  Then the estimate number is worthless except perhaps in determining how close it came to reality so that the method of estimating can be improved.

I'm inferring from your answer that I should not be expecting anything other than eGFR to be reported...and I guess that makes things easier in a way.
