You'll see that ACE2 receptors are present in adipose tissue as well as lung and other tissues, but ACE2 receptors per adipose cell don't seem to be any different between obese and normal weight subjects. I don't know if anyone has specifically looked at lung ACE2 in obese subjects.

Also of interest is the fact that it is not just covid that obesity affects. It is also worsens the prognosis in influenza.

I think it's a complex issue that's not yet understood. But your question was very pertinent.
