Cityslicker, thanks for the excellent insight. It is because of people like you and other science posters that I remain long on this stock. You science and medical folks provide the credibility and hope. I got into this stock 10 years ago because of interest in epigenetics and certainly hoped for some sort of payout by now.
I think many of us retail investors seem to have reached a concensus that the business side is a dissaster. They've not generated any business out of their blood bank. Nothing out of the EU. Deals to date seem sketchy at best. They have been struggling for the past few years at raising funds. It was probably financial pressure that caused them to skip the futility analysis. They have not gained any value from the BTD.
I don't know the people at RVX but I believe they are honest, hard working and talented but I don't think the skill set on the business side is capable of moving forward based on current needs. I believe Don is CEO and Chairman of the Board of both companies. The Boards of directors have no depth in BP. This is not a healthy situation in terms of credibility. Don has not surrounded himself with connected people.
That being said the science will continue to drive this company to succeed, (unfortunately at sub-optimal levels from a shareholder perspective).
I listened to Don's presentation. Don is a master of exploiting the forward looking statement cautions. I hope I am wrong but I really don't feel he has concrete deals lining up. Pure conjecture on my part. He is just buying time. My background is in the corporate world I've never seen any evidence that Don has his pencil sharp. Perhaps those that know Don can correct me on that.
I think RVX, as I've posted previously, still remains an academic type organization with no hunger on the business side.
Hope I'm wrong. GLTA.
