Telepanel, my take on why RVX is still around is because the science and associated IP is and always has been increasingly compelling enough to attract money and to actually withstand poor management and technical trial failures. Don't forget those failures have always resulted in new potential and targets being refined. Case in point regarding the science, I was at the meeting when DM (to his credit) was extolling the virtues of the science and saying that the science was so great that Eastern reached out to RVX looking for an investment in the science. Not management sourcing Eastern for funding. Additionally the science has resulted in other opportunities that management has thus far been unable to capitalize on. Further both Resverlogix and Zenith have been cited by Oxford and Harvard as world leaders in the field of epigenetics. Larger investors like Eastern, Hepalink and Ori have been able to get a close look at the science within RVX and still invested, that is one of the things that keeps me comfortable with the company. It is probably viewed as a positive for these investors that RVX is undervalued, bigger potential bang for their investment buck.
Personally I am invested in RVX because I still believe that, largely due to awful business management, RVX is woefully undervalued and that the market potential for just Apabetalone is so great that eventually a deal will made that will correct this undervaluation and provide investors with a large upside.
To me there are two pieces of telling commentary on the quality of RVX science vs business management 1) management has said they think the EV of the company is about 4B USD yet the company trades at a market cap of about $220M CDN (less than 5% of EV) despite the science achieving BTD. 2) the difference between the quality of the RVX Scientific Advisory Boards and the RVX Board of Directors. It is easy to verify that the science side is filled with world class scientists most of whom are associated with other top notch science programs. The same can not be said about the quality of the RVX Board of Directors, you really have to spin that Board to get world class biotech business prowess. (The HL and ORI board members are there on behalf of their respective companies so are obviously capable of whatever oversight/input HL and ORI require)
