Can only speak from my personal experience of participating in a trial here in an Alberta hospital. It was not a COVID trial.

The staff and Drs were not nearly as familiar with the product that I expected them to be. I did not feel that I received enough information on my first discussion. After going home and researching the product myself I felt confident enough to say okay.

That was not a life and death situation so there was time for me to do that research. In this case if you are being admitted to the hospital there seems to be some urgency to the decisions that are made. I hope that the staff that are dealing with the patients being asked if they would like to be in our trial have been aptly informed about all of the good and problematic points for apabetalone.
