He has lots of stock options which allow him profit over the strike price with no cash outlay, no money at risk and favorable tax treatment (as capital gains) when he excersises them and sell the stock. It's industry standard for Management and Directors and they very much like it that way, much more favorable than the way we take partial ownership of a public Company.
