Philippe Giaro
President and CEO, Director
Mr. Giaro is a graduate in geology from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he received an Honours B.Sc. diploma in 1984. He possesses a solid background in mineral exploration acquired through his involvement in exploration and development projects for various commodities, with an emphasis on gold, in North and South America. From 1984 to 2000 he held various positions from geologist and project manager for junior and major mining houses such as COGEMA and Falconbridge to Vice-President Exploration of a Canadian listed junior exploration company, Dianor Resources Inc. Since 2000, Mr. Giaro has been actively involved in commercial development and project management for a Belgian based engineering firm, Basse Sambre ERI, with a geographical focus on Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
Denis Tremblay
V.P., Corporate Secretary, Director
Mr Tremblay completed a B.A in Economics from Laval University with additional training in securities. He worked for the Royal Bank of Canada as an account manager, shortly after was appointed Vice-president -- Investor relations for Renmark Financial Communications and in 1999, he founded AGM Corporate Services Inc., an advisory firm offering strategic, legal and specialized management services to publicly traded companies. Mr Tremblay is an officer of Searchgold since 1997. He is also a Director of Amseco Exploration Ltd.
Pierre Goossens
Ph.D., P. Geo.
M. Goossens has over 35 years of world-wide experience in economic geology, including exploration, mineral reserve estimation, mining prospect evaluation, mining legislation and fiscal policies evaluation. He has managed BUGECO, a geological consultancy office, since its creation in 1981.
During the past 20 years, he carried over 100 consulting assignments in over 40 countries. He was advisor to the governments of Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania and Ivory Coast for the restructuring of administrations and the establishment of new mining strategies. He is specialized in the field of due diligence for mining companies and financial institutions.
He was involved in the discovery of two gold mines (Maruda in India and Morila in Mali), of one of the largest baryte deposits in Burma and of a silver mine and of a copper mine in Ecuador (San Bartolome and Chaucha respectively).
M. Goossens is also Professor of Geology at the University of Liège in Belgium, and is author of numerous scientific articles and several books. He is a member of the Académie Royale des Sciences Outre-Mer (Belgium) and is officer of ordre de Léopold and great officer of ordre de la couronne (Belgium). He is also fellow of the Economic Geology Society (United States), of the Geological Society of the United States and of the Institute of Mines and Metallurgy (IMM, United Kingdom). He is also director of several companies in Belgium and abroad. He has obtained the title of Euro-géologue.
Florent Baril
Director
Mr. Baril is a metallurgical engineer specialized in mining operations and ore treatment. He has more than 45 years of experience, including 25 years in Canadian mining companies at different levels (metallurgist, mill manager, mine manager, etc.) and more than 25 years as a consultant for engineering firms in Montreal. During these years, he was responsible for the start-up of mining operations and for the construction and expansion of many concentrators for precious metals, base and industrial metals.
He directed a minimum of 10 pre-feasability and feasibility studies for mining projects in Canada, South America, Mexico, North and West Africa, for Canadian and foreign companies and for international organisations such as the World Bank, the African Bank of Development and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
Mr Baril is the president and founder of BUMIGEME inc., a Montreal-based engineering firm that operates at the national level as well as on the international scene. He is also a board member for 3 Canadian mining companies.
Jean Nannan
Director
Dr Nannan is a veterinary doctor who graduated from Université de Cureghem et Liège in Belgium in 1982. Since 1996, he is an active investor in the natural resource sector and with a group of Belgium private fund holders, is actively involved in financing quality junior mining companies.
