After spending two years as VP of Skullcandy’s Global Board Sports Marketing, industry veteran Mike Carter has announced he will be moving on from the company. His official last day with the company was Friday, September 30.
Carter says he is excited to get started on a new endeavor— the details of which he is keeping quiet at the moment— but will spend the present moment catching up with family and taking some time off from a hectic travel schedule. He leaves Skullcandy on good terms, stating “I am a huge believer in the Skullcandy brand and the company. My official last day was Friday and we had a very fun farewell party in true Skullcandy fashion.”
TransWorld Business will share more information on Carter’s future move as soon as he does. In the meantime, here’s a letter that went out to the staff at Skullcandy from Carter:
“Dear Skulls,
After two of the most rewarding and exhilarating years of my professional career, I have decided to move on from the Skullcandy brand.
It was always my goal to help Skullcandy achieve recognition and integrity in the board sports industry.
I feel that I have accomplished this goal and now my work is complete.
As most of you know I am a true entrepreneur at heart and I am looking forward to my next endeavor.
I will always be grateful for the opportunity to work with each of you and will always value our friendship. Board sports is a small community and I look forward to seeing the Skullcandy family at industry events.
Our brand is populated with some of the most talented individuals that I have ever worked with and I wish you all the best of success.
Cheers & long live the Skull!
-Mike Carter
VP Global Board Sports Marketing”
