Just some information for SPQers on the Noront thing because it's impossible to follow everything when it comes to the Boards especially when there are so many JVs.

When I last chatted with Neil, he told me that Noront had not got its act together when it came to the PDAC convention and display space. They, in fact, had not advised PDAC that they needed a display space. So Neil, the wise veteran of these affairs had already got himself a space to represent Spider Resources. So Noront, the flagship of McFaulds has to bunk in with little ol' Spider. Not bad, eh! :)

I'm not crowing about this - I have positions in both Spider and Noront. I just find it amusing.

As far as merger talk, not yet. I have an email some place which I sent to Noront asking them whether they had talked with Spider about a merger, and they replied "We've talked but that's it." (I think they're right across the hall from each other.) So don't get your hopes up for a $2.00 take-out quite yet.

If SPQ with its JV partners strike something big on either the Freewest Option or McFaulds (or both), then all bets are off. The stakes become much, much higher and the Great Canadian Area Play will be in full swing.

My guess is that all of this will dramatically change and will become much larger than Spott, Genuity, or any of us have dreamt. The floor of the PDAC convention will be buzzing this year. I'll try to capture some pictures of the Spider booth and post them on this hub.
