VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2008) - UC Resources (TSX VENTURE:UC) is pleased to announce that production facility at La Yesca in Nayarit state, Mexico is now ready to begin processing material from the La Yesca tailings deposit.
UC Resources is now awaiting the Environmental Permit (MIA) to operate the mill at La Yesca. All submissions have been made to the Federal and State governing body SEMARNAT; they are presently working diligently to allow our (MIA) to be issued and we anticipate a timely response. Once the (MIA) has been issued it is expected to take six weeks to construct our compliant tailings containment pond, the final step before the commissioning of the mill.
The mill at La Yesca has a planned production rate of 200 tons per day and will be processing approximately 220,000 tons of tailings grading 2g/t Au and 220g/t Ag (Burns 43-101 2006).
Possible additional raw feed could be processed though this mill from the Xora claim which is approximately three kilometers away by road. The Xora claim has multiple past producing gambusinos (historical producing local mines) and regional sampling of the area has uncovered many more areas of "interest" as well as additional accessible tailings. Drilling on this claim will be conducted with cash flow obtained from the La Yesca mill operation.
UC Resources would also like to confirm that the drilling of the "Hook" occurrence is ongoing in the James Bay Lowlands project in the area known as "The Ring of Fire". UC Resources (TSX VENTURE:UC) has the right to earn a 55% interest in the East and West blocks currently held by Spider Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SPQ) and KWG Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:KWG). A number of high priority targets have been identified and will be drilled in sequence.
UC Resources is an active explorer of base metals in the McFaulds Lake area of the James Bay Lowlands, Ontario, plus an explorer and a very near term producer of precious metals in Mexico.
