Message: Why SPQ such a Laggard?

At this point, I am sure the discussion of the share consolidation still has a sour taste in the mouths of investors.

Many investors are still nervous about getting back into speculation, which is still the category that we are in - but not for much longer. There is at least one 43-101 out there, and NOT has said it will be delivering another soon.

Freewest was just destined to be the first company acquired by the majors. Noront will not be a major on its own, IMO, as they will be bought out as well. Noront is seeking to increase the value and portfolio of their company by gathering more properties under its umbrella. Freewest also has other assets (Clarence Stream, Windfall) that still show a lot of promise for development on their own (43-101 produced).

This takeover wrestling has gained a lot of press, include the Globe and Mail, so a lot of attention will be focused on the Ring of Fire this week. That could bring speculators in droves, which is what is needed for share prices to move.

Freewest and Noront have worked together before (Windfall, joint project in McFaulds) and share a long border between their properties. So the buyout was a logical step, although I did not like the way Noront went about making the offer. This would not have been the way that Nemis would have done things, but that is business for you. If they had not been so aggressive, they might have gotten it cheaper than they will pay now.

SPQ, KWG and UC are all in the area as well, but the borders with Freewest are just closer to Noront.

As Snug stated - our day will come, after the dust has settled some.
