"what implications will this have in the big "ring" picture...?? ... actually, we haven't found the pot of gold, well okay, nickel... yet!! ... but I have a lot of confidence in Neil"
Excellent post, Kelsee, and you cover several good points with it.
They are reporting on 9 holes here with another 6 to come soon. They hit on 8 of 9 holes here and their accuracy should improve with each hole they drill, so the remaining 6 should be more of the good stuff.
They are now moving on another 20-25 holes to be drilled this season, and they will be drilled using the information they now have from this last program, so hit ratio should improve even more from here. I have been told that in the discovery stage of the great Hemlo mine, they were unable to pinpoint the main orebody with the drill bit, but utilizing the data gained from this drill bit they were able to calculate exactly where the orebody should be. They then drilled it and it was there. Apparently this nickel hit they have, although small in size, is known to not travel far from it's source and still maintain it's integrity or something. With a few more holes they may be able to pinpoint the direction and distance with a good degree of accuracy.
It seems Neil has been an instrumental part of every discovery here to date. Certainly he was an incremental part of the original Eagle discovery, and the original ROF discoveries prior to the Eagles. It would be very appropriate if he was the one to find the source of this new find, regardless of whether it was on JV land or not. Most of us have a basket of ROF plays and regardless of where the mother lode is, we will all benefit.
Regardless, the holiday season is over, and this is the first release of the new season. If they are all as good as this one, look out.
Regards
K
