SPQ - What's it worth to you?
How many retail shareholders own SPQ shares? 100's? 1000's? I don't really know. But let's say there are 3000. What's SPQ worth to each one of them? I would hazard to guess you would get 3000 answers. So debating a "magic number" for a share price (what it's worth) is both futile and arbitrary. IMO
However, we're all investors wanting "a return" - a good return. I would like to hazard a guess that it's much more than the 6 cent share price that we presently have.
Would you be happy with 30 cents? Maybe. A Canadian buck? Maybe. Pick a number.
Whatever number you come up with may be in danger from larger corporate entities... right? (Does the bear s**t in the woods?) Cliffs? Hedgies? Wedgies? (Just kidding).
There's been much discussion around the retail shareholders fight against the reverse split proposal made by Neil Novak in 2006. There's no need to regurgitate the history of this fight, but suffice it to say, in this instance the retail shareholder won. But SPQ is in a vastly different ROF universe in 2010.
I have no idea what the next few weeks and months will bring with regards to SPQ. But there is one thing that probably is guaranteed... someone will want SPQ cheap.
So I think being forewarned is being forearmed. And we need to prepare for battle.
I would like to hear and see and intelligent discussion with regards to ideas of how we might prepare for what is to come. Perhaps we could dispense with anything negative. Just suggestions. We have some really skilled people out there in cyberspace. In North America, in Europe, and around the world.
Let's hear your ideas.
